The short version: some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through them, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I only link to things I'd recommend anyway.
What is an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is a special link that tells a seller, "this person came from my site." If you click one and then make a purchase, the seller may pay me a small commission as a thank-you for sending you their way. You don't pay anything extra — the price is the same whether or not you use my link.
Which programs we work with
My Dog, My Life participates in affiliate programs operated through networks including, but not limited to:
- impact.com
- Awin (awin.com)
- Other affiliate programs operated directly by individual brands or via other networks.
As an affiliate of these programs, this site earns qualifying commissions from purchases made through the affiliate links on the site and in the newsletter.
Our promise to you
Three commitments
- I only recommend products I would genuinely use. A commission is never the reason something appears on this site. If a product is bad, it doesn't get a link — period.
- I tell you when a link is affiliate. Where practical, affiliate links are disclosed in context, and this page is always linked from the site footer.
- No paid placements dressed up as reviews. If a brand ever pays for a dedicated feature, it will be clearly labelled as sponsored. (This hasn't happened yet.)
Why affiliate links at all?
Running a website and sending a weekly newsletter costs money — hosting, email delivery, and the time it takes to research and write each issue. Affiliate income is one of the ways this newsletter stays free for readers without relying on ads or paywalls.
The FTC wants you to know
In line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on the use of endorsements and testimonials in advertising, this disclosure makes clear that My Dog, My Life has a financial relationship with some of the companies whose products we mention, and that we may be compensated if you purchase through links on this site or in our emails.
Any opinions expressed about products are genuine and based on our own experience or considered research. Testimonials and reader quotes, where used, reflect the real views of those individuals and are not fabricated.
Your trust comes first
If a recommendation ever stops being honest, the whole point of this newsletter is gone — so it's in everyone's interest that the affiliate links here are earned, not bought. If you ever feel a recommendation is off, or you've had a bad experience with something I've linked to, I genuinely want to hear about it through the contact page.
